24 Aug California Privacy Law a Threat to Free Flow of Information, Ad Companies Say
The Association of National Advertisers told the Federal Trade Commission this week that California’s new privacy law is a threat to the U.S.-based Internet economy and consumers’ access to digital-based information and services.
The ANA added that laws like the GDPR and CCPA limits competition, bombards consumers with opt-in notices, and makes is difficult for an digital economy to thrive.
California’s new law will not be taking effect until January 2020, which is why the ANA and other business organizations are still making an effort to urge the state’s lawmakers to make a host of amendments.
