20 Oct Bug in Telepresence Robots Allows Hackers Full Control and Access to Information
Five critical bugs in telepresence robots from Vecna Technologies had recently been discovered by security researcher Dan Regalado of Zingbox.
The five vulnerabilities which affect the Vecna VGo Celia can reportedly be exploited by hackers to gain full control of the robot and full access to information such as chat logs, images, and live video streams. The flaws are particularly dangerous as these robots are often used in hospitals and even boardrooms where sensitive information are shared.
Regalado says that Vecna has already patched two bugs. However, he said that the remaining three are just as critical and can be used by attackers to gain remote access.
