British Startup Seeks to Establish Anti-Identity Theft Global ID System

A UK startup is looking to address the problem of identity theft and unwanted data collection by creating a digital identity for its users.

The company, Yoti (Your Own Trusted Identity), further reveals that the ID will only require a smartphone with the app, which is available for Android and iOS. The user can create a digital identity by submitting biometric identifiers such as a video, speech, and a government ID. These information are then purged by Yoti after the ID is created.

Co-founder and CEO Robin Tombs says that the Yoti ID should make authentication easier and more secure since it can be used online, globally across a range of services.
