Brave CEO Urges US Senate to Consider GDPR

The CEO of privacy browser Brave urged members of the US Senate this week to look at Europe’s new data privacy rules, the GDPR, as a regulatory model.

Eich said that the GDPR’s primary principles comply with the US’s legal understanding of privacy and are based on what the US had endorsed in the OECD Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data in 1980.

Eich also called the GDPR “the great leveller” which gives rise to conditions that allow young, innovative companies to flourish.
