Australia Post: PageUp Malware Incident May Have Caused Breach

The Australia Post alerted employees this week that their personal information may have been compromised by the malware incident that hit cloud-based human resources (HR) software provider PageUp.

While the software vendor said that the malware had already been removed and their system restored to normal, names and contact details of users, as well as usernames and passwords may have already been leaked. As for successful applicants, even more sensitive details such as bank details, tax file number and superannuation details, diversity information, emergency contact information, conditions of offer and employment may have been compromised.

In addition to Australia Post, PageUp also lists Telstra, Michael Hill, Linfox Armguard Group as customers.
