Apple Rolls Out New Privacy Policy for App Store

Apple announced new rules for its App Store this week which will require developers to clearly and explicitly disclose how their apps use, secure and share the user’s personal data.

Under the new policy which will take effect on October 3, developers will have to submit a privacy policy for all new apps and app updates before they can be submitted for distribution. Apple says that the policies can only be edited when a new version of the app is submitted to ensure that the developers do not tweak the policies after submission.

The policy should also be easily accessible and inform users how they can withdraw their consent and delete their data.
