19 Jan Apple CEO Calls on FTC to Allow People to Delete Their Data on Demand
In a Time article published this week, Apple CEO Tim Cook suggested that the FTC implement a new framework that will compel companies that handle user data to allow their users to delete their information on demand.
Cook also suggested that the agency should create a data-broker clearinghouse similar to financial clearing houses used for market transactions.
Cook also said that he and others are urging the US government to pass a “comprehensive federal privacy legislation” that will help consumers minimize the data being collected from them by companies and have complete control over the data that has been collected from them.
