14 Aug Android Spy App Exposes Passwords, Nudes of 1.7 Million Users
Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology revealed that an app called Couple Vow had exposed the passwords of its 1.7 million users in plain text.
The researchers said that the apps flaws were quite rudimentary, as all they had to do was request data from the app’s server without the need for a username or password. The team said the bug made it possible to get access to all the content sent through the app, including sensitive images.
The team added that Google had been slow to respond and had to be pushed to take down the app from its Play Store.
