11 May Amazon to Offer More Privacy Protections with Echo Dot Kids Edition
In an attempt to capture the market of privacy-minded parents, Amazon recently came out with a new smart home device called Echo Dot Kids Edition.
According to the ecommerce giant, the Alexa-powered, “kid-friendly” Echo Dot version which is designed for kids 5 to 12, will respond to questions in a “kid-appropriate way” and comes with a subscription that only allows access to kid-friendly media such as books and radio stations.
Amazon also says that while the device can store the user’s questions and voice recordings, parents will have access to them and will be able to delete them completely. The kid-edition smart device also has its online shopping function disabled.
