12 Jan Amazon India Bug Exposes Seller Information
A technical error had reportedly leaked the competitive business data of sellers on Amazon India’s platform, causing other users to receive private financial information such as merchant tax reports of others.
Amazon India confirmed that there was indeed a glitch which caused a breach, but it immediately fixed the issue. However, the ecommerce giant did not reveal how many were affected, and did not say whether any number of sellers have raised a complaint.
Experts have noted that while Amazon responded swiftly to the incident, it is still bound to make an impact on the trust of its users.
