ABS-CBN Relaunches Breached Online Store

National Privacy Commission head of complaints and investigation Francis Acero said this week that the matter concerning ABS-CBN’s breached online store has been closed and there’s ownership on the part of the controller, ABS CBN, to make sure that it’s a safer computing environment.

The breach of the website, which was brought to the attention of the NPC last September, affected around 213 customers. Acero assured the public that the website is now safe to use.

ABS-CBN and NPC also reminded consumers to increase their security using two-factor authentication for credit card payments, and to check the security certificates of the websites they are transacting on.
