28 Dec India’s New Data Rules Set to Spark Data Center Capacity Boom
Analysts recently predicted that India’s draft Personal Data Protection Bill is likely to trigger an explosive growth in the Indian data center market.
A number of third party operators and players have already begun pumping investments into the opportunity, such as Hyderabad’s CrtlS which has already prepared a Rs 2000 crore expansion plan.
UK’s Colt Data Center Services is also setting up a 100MW hyperscale facility in Mumbai, while Singapore’s Ascendas-Singbridge will be investing $1 billion in facilities in Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai.
Other players reportedly jumping into the boom are Netmagic Solutions, Airtel’s Nxtra Data Ltd. ESDS Software and Nxt Gen Data Center & Cloud Technologies.
