06 Dec Virtual Keyboard Leaks Personal Data of 31 Million Users
A popular onscreen keyboard app called AI.type was recently reported to have leaked the private information of 40 million of its users around the world.
The app’s server, owned by co-founder Eitan Fitusi, was apparently left unsecured without a password and left the data of Android users exposed. Approximately 577 GB of data that included user’s full names, email addresses, as well as location information (city, country) had been compromised because of this security lapse.
The server has been secured after Kromtech had reported the discovery to Fitusi. However, Fitusi did not issue a comment on the matter.
