16 Dec Uber Gave Singapore its Biggest Data Breach Ever Reported
Reports have indicated that the number of individuals affected by Uber’s 2016 in Singapore now stands at 380,000, making it the biggest data breach ever reported in the city-state’s history.
The Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), Singapore’s privacy regulator, said that it is currently investigating if the international ride-hailing company had violated any laws.
A spokesman for the Land Transport Authority (LTA) also said that as a transport service provider, Uber should be held to high standards of public accountability and is expected to be compliant to the Personal Data Protection Act.
