Data privacy compliance company TrustArc is set to co-host the APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules Framework Workshop with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and ITI on March 26, 2018 at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington.
The event will feature a discussion on how the framework benefits businesses and countries which adopt its principles. It will include keynotes by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and acting FTC Chair Maureen Ohlhausen.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) Framework is a model developed by APEC economies that ensures interoperability across privacy regimes. South Korea and Singapore are already members of the system, while Australia, the Philippines and Taiwan have already announced their plans to join.
