27 Mar Tim Cook, IBM Call for Additional Data Oversight After Facebook Privacy Scandal
Last week at the China Development Forum in Beijing, Apple and IBM executives called for greater oversight on personal data that businesses such as Facebook keep.
Cook said that while he is not a fan of regulation, changes have to be made and regulation may be needed for situations as dire as Facebook’s. IBM chief Virginia Rometty meanwhile said users should have more control over their own data.
At the same event, Baidu chief Robin Li said that China is now more aware of the problem and have been increasingly enforcing relevant laws.
