Tim Cook Explains Why Google is Still Apple’s Default Search Engine Despite Criticisms

Despite his criticisms on privacy which were seemingly pointed towards Google and Facebook, Tim Cook recently explained why his company still prefers to do business with the search giant and keep it as the default search engine on Apple devices.

Cook said that Google is the best search service there is, and while the privacy principles of the two companies runs counter to each other, Apple has put in a number privacy features and controls such as private web browsing and intelligent tracker prevention in Safari to protect their customers.

It was noted that Google still pays Apple billions of dollars each year to be the default search engine on Safari.
