Swisscom Sales Partner Exposes Customer Info

Telecoms provider Swisscom revealed earlier this week one of its external sales partners had been breached and that customer details may have been compromised.

The breach, which was found to have happened late last year, may have exposed “non-sensitive” data such as names, addresses, telephone numbers and dates of birth of almost 800,000 individuals. Although no passwords, conversations or payment data had been affected, Swisscom says that it is tightening its security measures by implementing two-factor authentication for data access by partners, and banning high-volume queries for all customer information.
