02 Sep Swedish Government May Compel VPNs to Keep Logs
A government whistleblower recently revealed that Sweden may be following in the footsteps of Russia and China with regards to VPNs.
A leak from Swedish ISP Bahnhof alleges that the Swedish government is mulling over plans to force VPns to keep usage logs. ISPs are already keeping web browsing histories and metadata because of Sweden’s mandatory data retention laws, which the European Court of Justice has found to be unlawful.
However, Martin Müller of PrivateVPN said that these were just rumors and such a policy would take years to enforce.
