18 Nov Suspects Behind Massive Malaysian Breach Identified
Last Thursday, Malaysian authorities said that they have identified the individuals who may be responsible for the recent breach in the country which compromised the personal details of around 46.2 million citizens.
According to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, the suspects may have been employees of the company responsible for handling the data. He also said that their investigation did not show the involvement of any of the telcos.
The police have yet to make an arrest related to the case. However, the Malaysian Data Privacy Protection Department (JPDP) blocked a website set up by a security researcher which was supposedly meant to help victims check if they were included in the leak.
