Strava Issue Prompts Review of Personal Privacy Settings

The recent issue involving fitness app company Strava had awakened privacy concerns regarding apps and devices that capture user’s data.

It had been reported that Strava’s fitness app may have inadvertently revealed the location of US military presence in conflict zones. This only shows that such devices may put the user at risk if their privacy settings are not properly configured.

An article by ZDNet went into detail on how to properly set up the privacy options in popular fitness trackers such as Strava, Fitbit, Garmin Connect, and Runkeeper.
