Startup Uses Blockchain for Cybersecurity Applications

In a recent interview, the CEO of a startup called Edge revealed that they will be using blockchain technology to develop proprietary tools that can give users control and security over their online information.

Formerly branded as Airbitz, Edge promises to give its users security by using advanced client-side Blockchain encryption before the data flows to any network or server.

Edge CEO Paul Puey explained that his company secures data by encrypting it on the device that the user controls, instead of centralizing data and trusting a third-party. Puey says that by inverting the security model, cyber criminals will have less incentive to hack.
