South Korea Regulator to Investigate Google on Location Data Collection

Last Thursday, South Korea’s media regulator announced that it will be conducting an investigation on Google’s user data management practices.

KCC’s Privacy Infringement Investigation Division chief said that it plans to summon representatives of Google Korea to determine the exact circumstances regarding the secret collection of user location data on Android phones.

The ministry added that they will take appropriate action if necessary, and cooperate with any international investigations that may arise.
