03 Jul Shops Stalk Customers’ Facial Expressions Using New Tech
Retailers across Europe and the U.S are implementing a new technology that spies on customer behavior. The tech can point out if a customer is unable to find an item, see how they react to products, if they require help, and even weed out thieves.
A French seller who installed the technology revealed their sales increased by 10% owing it to their new ability to detect shopper’s movements and let staff know who needs assistance.
Zebra Technology’s director of retail and hospitality Mark Thompson said the systems are made to be undetectable so that shoppers are unaware of them. This can help shops improve their clients’ shopping experience by learning more about their behavior.
