28 Aug Protests Held Against Berlin’s Facial Recognition Program
Earlier this week, protesters received German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere as he visited the Sudkreuz train station in Berlin, which is one of the primary sites for the country’s proposed implementation of facial recognition technology where thousands of passengers pass daily.
It was reported that a majority of Germans are not in favor of using the technology, but a lot of volunteers have signed up for the six-month surveillance experiment program.
