PlusPrivacy App Helps Users Protect or Sell Their Data

PlusPrivacy, an app developed by the Operando Consortium, is now available for download in Google Play Store. The makers of the app say that it is the ultimate tool for protecting one’s privacy online.

It also has the “privacy-for-benefit” feature where the user can exchange his data for discounts and other forms of incentive. However, the app is still in its developmental stage and has yet to sign up a number of participating businesses.

Operando says that the app will sustain itself by taking a small cut off each transaction, an amount that is yet to be determined by the developers. They add that the app will just be collecting the same data that users are already providing to third parties such as Facebook for free.
