27 Aug Personal Data of Japanese Citizens Up for Sale on the Darkweb
A cybersecurity analyst recently revealed that the private information of Japanese citizens are being sold in bulk on the darknet.
Hiroki Iwai of Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting says that personal information such as names, credit card information, driver’s licenses, online payment accounts, and even medical data, that have recently made its way to darknet selling sites can be purchased via Bitcoin.
Doron Levit, Kela Group’s Japan chief, says that the Japanese government and companies are currently lagging in terms of putting sufficient security countermeasures in place.
