28 Jun Organizations are Not Ready for Global Security Risks and Regulations Reports Experian
An industry study released by the Experian Data Breach Resolution and Ponemon Institute revealed that companies fail to properly understand and perform the organizational changes to comply to the Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
For the study Data Risks and Regulations in the Global Economy, the institute reached out to more than 550 IT security and compliance professionals who are a part of their company’s GPDR to test their preparedness in responding to a global data breach.
The study found that while 56 percent of the respondents have experienced a data breach in the last 5 years, 32 percent of the sample size did not have a response plan. Only 9% said that their organization is ready to comply to the GDPR of the European Union.
