21 Aug NPC Tells Schools to Protect Privacy in Drug Testing
Manila, Philippines – Schools and agencies have been urged by the National Privacy Commission (NPC) to implement data privacy measures when conducting the drug tests as mandated by the government.
Privacy commissioner Raymond Liboro said that any individual or organization who will be processing data should know the risks, benefits, and exercise the right controls. He noted that there are laws in place that penalize parties who fail to protect the sensitive personal data the collect.
“If you cannot protect it, don’t collect it” he added.
