04 Oct NPC Awaits Facebook Count of Filipinos Affected by Breach
The National Privacy Commission said this week that it is still waiting for Facebook’s official cout on how many Filipino users had been affected by the breach.
Facebook announced last week that it had been hit by hackers who were able to steal “access tokens” which are used to automatically log users back into the platform.
NPC Commissioner Raymund Enriquez Liboro also said that the information leaked from the breach could be used as a “jumping point” by hackers to carry out other illegal activities. He added that there was clearly a failure of security on the part of Facebook.
