New Study says Companies Not Giving Full Effort for Data Privacy & Protection

A recent study which polled 9,500 senior business and technology executives from 122 countries found that most companies are still careless when handling data in their repositories.

Professional services multinational PwC showed in their report that less than 50% of the respondents said  their organization limits collection, retention, and access of personal information to the minimum necessary to accomplish the legitimate purpose for which it is collected. 51% said they had an accurate inventory of where personal data for employees and customers are collected, transmitted, and stored, while 53% required employees to complete privacy policy and practices training.

The study further found that only 46% said they require third parties to comply with their privacy policies.
