01 Nov New Facebook Phishing Campaign Lures iOS and Android Users
Finnish cybersecurity firm F-Secure recently identified a Facebook spam campaign that uses phishing pages to obtain the Facebook and YouTube login credentials of Android and iOS users.
The attackers use shortened links that appear to be from YouTube which they spread via the user’s compromised account. Mobile users were reported to have been redirected to a “Facebook Video Application” page made to look like a legitimate Facebook login page. Researchers say that the campaign had been mostly targeting users in Sweden, Finland and Germany where it got almost 160,000 clicks.
Users who recall logging into the said page are advised to change their passwords and enable two-step verification on their accounts.
