10 Oct Mozilla Cliqz Pulls User’s Browsing Data, Says It Will Improve Privacy
Mozilla has rolled out a pilot program that uses the Cliqz plugin which collects the user’s browsing data in Firefox.
The plugin can give the user website recommendations on the search bar, based on the pulled data. It is now being tested on around 1% of Firefox browsers in Germany where Cliqz GmbH is based.
Seeing that the plugin has raised some privacy concerns, Cliqz reassured that the recommendations are made using a “privacy-by-design architecture” and also includes various privacy and safety enhancements.
