03 Jul Microsoft: Windows 10 Users Make Their Own Data Privacy Choices
After receiving heat over their data collection process, Microsoft says that Windows 10 users who upgraded to the Creators Update may now make choices on how their data will be managed. Windows will also be sending out a set of pop ups prompting users who have yet to get the Creators Update to customize their privacy settings.
The prompt can only be dismissed 5 times. The pop up mentions that making the privacy changes will not automatically update their device. The U.S based software giant will also be notifying users of outdated and unsupported Windows 10 versions to upgrade their OS to the newer versions, as they may not be getting the security updates made to protect them from malware attacks.
