14 Mar LinkedIn Updates Policies in Preparation for GDPR
In a blog post last week, LinkedIn’s VP of legal Sara Harrington announced that the company had made changes to its terms of service in order to be compliant to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will be taking effect in May.
According to Harrington, the changes will impact the platform’s user agreement, privacy policy, cookie policy and professional community policies, with the goal to help users understand the data LinkedIn captures and tracks, how they can opt out of data collection, and how information can be corrected.
Harrington added that the new settings will give users more control over ads they see, and greater transparency about their data LinkedIn shares with advertisers.
