Tech publications are recommending Laverna for users who are looking for a note taking app with better privacy safeguards.
While not as advanced as Evernote, the app offers some advantages for users looking for greater privacy. The app does not have its own servers, users can download and use the app even without registering an account, and use their own private servers for online access. Users can even set up a password to encrypt and decrypt their data.
The open-source app is currently available on Mac, Windows, and Linux, and an Android version is currently in development.
