02 Jul Israeli Propaganda App Exposes User Emails
At least 1,900 emails of Israeli government supporters were compromised when a propaganda app failed to implement privacy and security protections in place. An independent security researcher found the vulnerability in the app called Act.il.
The app’s developer Rallyware was informed of the flaws and acknowledged that a ‘patch’ has been released to limit access to that information. The security researcher acknowledged the update made on the vulnerability.
Act.il uses badges and points to award users for completing tasks or assignments called ‘missions’ that including sharing news stories through social media platforms.
