A new research from Accenture reported that retailing will experience a greater shift in the next 10 years because of “digitalisation”.
The retail industry can expect as much as $2.95 trillion (€2.5 trillion) coming from digital purchases.
According to the same report, Irish consumers were willing to adopt intelligent technologies, including preemptive prediction of a consumer’s needs, and automated orders placed for them.
However, customers were wary of brands snooping into their shopping history to forecast and select items to purchase for them.
Accenture noted that sharing all these consumer data are important trends as retail makes the leap to digital.
