Instagram to Allow Users to Download Copy of Their Content

As a response to the recent privacy scandal hounding its parent company, Instagram announced that it will be allowing users to download a copy of all the content they have uploaded to the platform.

The feature, which is only currently available for Facebook, will be rolled out to Instagram users before May 25 to help Instagram comply with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation which is also scheduled to take effect on said date.

The popular social image sharing app had been acquired by Facebook in 2012 and currently has around 800 million users around the world.
