14 Sep Information of 1 Million Canoe.ca Customers Hacked
Reports this week have revealed that the personal data of around 1 million users of Canoe.ca had been compromised.
Customer information such as names, email and home addresses, and telephone numbers spanning from 1996 to 2008 had been compromised, The Canadian news and entertainment, however, assured that no financial information such as credit card or social insurance numbers had been leaked, and that data after 2008 were kept safe.
Canoe.ca learned of the breach around September 2, and said that it informed the RCMP, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the provincial privacy commissioners shortly thereafter.
