Industry Group Says BPMs at High Risk of Breaches

Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) director Tonichi Achurra-Parekh recently remarked that the business process management (BPM) sector of the Philippines is highly prone to data breaches, but the industry is stepping up its privacy and security measures to increase its competitiveness.

Parekh urged other sectors – banking, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals, to improve its data privacy practices and mentioned that they are working to raise awareness on data privacy and security among employees, which the National Privacy Commission (NPC) lauded.

The industry group will be hosting a two-day privacy conference in Manila next month called Data Privacy Asia which will feature more than 15 sessions and more than 25 speakers from across the globe.
