21 Sep India Lax on Google Privacy Policy, Cybersecurity Expert Says
Earlier this week, a cybersecurity expert from the JNTU Hyderabad has expressed his concern over India’s seemingly lax attitude towards Google’s privacy policy.
According to G. Srinivas Reddy, most Indians do not value privacy as much as their Western counterparts. Even though the tech giant’s data collection and protection policies have already come under fire in Europe, legal action against such companies are nonexistent in India, partly due to ‘nil’ awareness levels.
Subramanyam Lakshminarayan from Cloud4C also added that lax privacy laws in India are not being properly enforced as well.
