11 Jul Hard Rock and Loews Hotels Hit by Sabre Breach
Last Thursday, Hard Rock revealed that customer data from 11 of its properties may have been involved in Sabre’s “SynXis” breach. Sabre has created a consumer information site detailing the data that may have been compromised.
The system breach ran from August 2016 to March 2017, only affecting Hard Rock’s Las Vegas hotel and casino. NBC Philadelphia also reports that Loews Hotels was affected by the booking breach.
Sabre stated that only full card information has been leaked for some holiday-makers, and that no personal information has been accessed. Other bookings were processed using virtual card numbers instead.
Sabre’s SynXis booking management system was also compromised back in May. Travel agency Carlson Wagonlit Travel was also involved in the SynXis breach, prompting Google to advise its employees to watch out for suspicious activities on their cards last June.
