20 Jan Half of Norway’s Healthcare Data Compromised by Hackers
Recent reports from local press revealed that a hacker or hacking group may have stolen the healthcare information of around half of Norway’s population.
The data, which is kept by a healthcare organization that manages hospitals in nine out of 18 Norway counties, was said to have been accessed by the attackers last January 8. Health South-East’s made an announcement right after they learned that from HelseCERT that suspicious traffic was coming from their network.
Evidence of a severe breach was uncovered upon further investigation by the IT staff at Sykehuspartner HF. Health South-East RHF suspect that the attacker may have been an advanced and professional actor.
