Group Calls for Transparency of Intelligence Activities of Five Eyes

Privacy International is requesting members of Five Eyes, including their local Australian government agency, for transparency about the kinds of intelligence sharing the members implement so as to protect the private information of citizens.

Along with Privacy International, 30 other international groups such as Australian Lawyers for Human Rights, and CryptoAUSTRALIA have reached out to countries who are part of the Five Eyes. The coalition is inquiring about their governments’ activities on intelligence sharing and their ability to review decisions by these institutions to disclose intelligence or conduct independent probes, among others.

The countries involved have until October 31 to answer the queries.
