05 Dec Google to Flag Snooping Apps on Playstore
Google’s Safe Browsing Team recently announced that it will be flagging Play Store apps which collect personal data without the user’s consent.
Developers have been told to provide a clear privacy policy and prompt users if the app will be using their personal user data. Google specifies that the user must provide consent every time personal information not related to the functionality of the app is transmitted.
Offending apps will be marked via Google Play Protect which will warn users from proceeding to malicious sites.
