FTC Hosts Privacy Forum in San Francisco

The Federal Trade Commission recently hosted a semi-annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) Forum last June 25-26 in San Francisco where topics such as privacy trends and protection were discussed.

Some of the discussions focused on the US’ multi-faceted approach to privacy and data security,  the collection of personal data from IoT devices, cross-border data flows, and privacy obstacles facing startups and small businesses.

Representatives from APPA members countries including Australia, Canada, Colombia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macao, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and the United States attended the event.
