Firefox Makes Tracking Protection More Accessible

It was reported this week that Mozilla developers had made tracking protection easier to discover and use on Firefox Nightly. The privacy feature, which was once tucked away in the preference submenu, prevents website publishers and advertisers from running software that follows the user’s online behavior.

The tracking protection change, which will come to Firefox this September, will also allow users to block tracking per site, instead using the previous all-or-nothing approach by clicking on the information icon at the left side of the address bar.

Firefox product manager Peter Dolanjski said that they made the function easier for users to access since since some websites can function in unexpected ways when tracking protection is enabled.
