29 Mar Facebook to Pay Reward for Cases of Data Misuse
Facebook recently announced that it will be including a third category in its bug bounty program which will focus on data misuse by third party apps on its platform.
According to Facebook’s vice president of product partnerships Ime Archibong, developers and apps that misuse personally-identifiable information will be banned from the platform. Users will also be notified about apps that have been removed.
In line with its efforts to address problems caused by its privacy scandal, Facebook had also announced a major review of apps last week, as well as the introduction of new “rigorous policies and terms” for third-party app developers.
