10 Apr Facebook to Alert Users Affected by Cambridge Analytica Data Scandal
Last week, Facebook revealed that it will be notifying around 87 million of its users whose data had been improperly harvested and misused by political consultancy firm Cambridge Analytica.
Facebook said that names, locations, information relating to content that users have liked, friend lists, etc had been scraped using a personality prediction app “thisisyourdigitallife” and shared with the London-based data firm to swing election voters.
The Guardian said that users impacted by the data misuse will receive a message on their news feed entitled “Protecting Your Information”.
